Do we really want to press our luck?
This one features a total that moved from 8 to 7 yet once again everyone appears to be on the OVER.
A closer examination shows that the number actually opened at 6.5 at some books and has since moved up to 7.
Merrill Kelly, starting for Arizona, is coming off a win vs. Colorado. Against the Cubs, he's allowed two home runs and they were both courtesy of Cody Bellinger.
The Cubs Justin Steele's last two games resulted in zero runs scored by the opponent. He has won three of his last four starts and has allowed just four hits versus a rather small sampling of 27 at bats versus the current Diamondbacks lineup.
Pirates @ Braves
Pirates starter Johan Oviedo allowed 5 runs his last start after surrendering just one in 14 innings pitched over his prior two starts. These are the Braves and a total that has moved from 10 to 10.5 with lopsided OVER action.
Dylan Dodd will start for Atlanta. He is 2-1 with a 7.40 ERA.
Five of the last six games in this series have gone OVER 10.5.
Guardians @ Angles
There has been lopsided OVER action on this game early that has prompted the oddsmakers to move the number from 8.5 to 9.5 in some cases.
Lucas Giolito was hammered for nine runs in his first start for the Cleveland Guardians and faces some solid bats with Nolan Schanuel, Brandon Drury, Luis Rengifo, and Mike Moustakas.
He's coming off of four straight losses, however, and something needs to give.
Cleveland is 6-2 in the last eight versus the Angels, a team that has only won a single game over their last eight.
This one actually moved from +100 to -120 favoring the Indians. Cleveland really needs to do well to make it into the post season.
Facing a current Angels lineup with Shohei Ohtani included in the stats, Giolito has surrendered just 21 hits in 97 at bats and five homers (.216). Three of those home runs were Ohtani's.
Ohtani has missed four straight games and might be available to pitch hit. Does he start pounding home runs immediately off of the injury list?
Tyler Anderson is 5-6 with a 5.55 ERA for LA. He hasn't had a win in several starts. In fact, the opposing team has allowed 9 or more runs in each of his last five starts when all was said and done. He's also not pitching beyond five innings.
He has pitched well against the Indians current lineup though (7 for 34 at bats with no home runs, 2.06).
The Angels currently have one of the worst bullpens.
