White Sox vs. Guardians Series

(May 23, 2023) - Today the consensus cappers are mostly on the White Sox at +115 in a game against the Cleveland Guardians.

The White Sox are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Cleveland with neither team playing particularly well of late.

Cleveland Guardians career statistics vs. Dylan Cease are just 28 for 108 at bats with only one home run.

Dylan Cease was charged with three runs over 6 1/3 innings on Thursday in a loss to the Guardians.

He hasn't had a win in a very long time and he's pitched pretty well.

Logan Allen yielded one run over 5 2/3 innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the White Sox.

He's without a win since April 23.

The UNDER is 6-1 in the last seven games of this series.  Do take the UNDER 8.5 today.

White Sox Reliever Injures Groin During Brawl

(April 10, 2023) - On Sunday afternoon, Pirates shortstop Oneil Cruz suffered an ankle injury after the Pirates and White Sox bullpens emptied onto the field.  That injury will keep him out of service much of the rest of the season.

White Sox reliever Joe Kelly apparently injured his right groin strain after running in from the bullpen when the benches cleared.

Kelly, 34, has made three appearances this season, allowing three runs on four hits with one walk and three strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings. That translates into a 10.13 ERA and 1.88 WHIP.  He was out for Monday night's game against the Twins.

In 2018, Kelly was suspended six games for another bench clearing brawl.

Twins Batters Just .134 vs. Dylan Cease

(April 8, 2023) - Dylan Cease is slated to start as pitcher for the Chicago White Sox on Monday.  On average, Minnesota batters are just .134 against him in 82 at bats (he's allowed 11 hits).

Dylan Cease yielded one run over five innings on Wednesday in a win over the Giants, and that was pitching with an illness.  That showed perhaps in his stats as he allowed for five free passes and took him 99 pitches.

Willi Castro and Joey Gallo each have had a home run facing Cease.  They're also pretty much the only Twins batters who've had any type of success against him.

Chicago in recent games has a bit of an edge against Minnesota as they are 9-5 over the last fourteen meetings.  but the White Sox are also off to a sluggish start as they were 3-5 heading into Sunday's game against Pittsburgh.

The White Sox are 7-2 in their last 9 games with the total set at 6.5 or lower, which this one could be.

Kenta Maeda has allowed 12 hits in 48 at bats versus the White Sox.  Yasmani Grandal (2.38 ERA currently) has hit 4 of 8 against him with 3 RBIs and one homer.
