The Chicago White Sox did have dominance over the Detroit Tigers up until recently, but that trend is now changing.  Despite their 19-30 record, the White Sox were winning 60% of their most recent games coming into this week.  Detroit owned a 21-24 record.  They were winning 50% of their more recent games.  There was no edge on the total in this series of late either.

Michael Lorenzen was slated to start for the Tigers on Saturday.  He is 2-2 with a 4.08 ERA.

Lorenzen was tagged for five runs over 5 2/3 innings Monday in a no-decision against the Royals.  He previous won his start against Pittsburgh with a shutout.  And before that, Lorenzen yielded one run over seven innings in a loss to the Guardians. So he will be coming into this game having pitched quite well of late.

He was slated to start on Saturday against a White Sox pitcher who has mostly been a reliever.

Something is going right for the Tigers and Eduardo Rodriguez is a big part of this with his 4-3 record, but more importantly his 2.06 ERA.

He surrendered four runs in five innings Wednesday in a loss to the Pirates.  Prior to that, he pitched four-hit ball for seven innings in the Tigers' 5-0 shutout of the Guardians.  Rodriguez had allowed a total of two runs in his last six starts, leaving him with a 1.57 ERA on the season and his last start was one of his worst.  We would anticipate Rodriguez bouncing back nicely against the White Sox on Sunday.

Here's the good news; Chicago White Sox career statistics vs. Eduardo Rodriguez are just 14 for 71 against him (.197) with just one home run.

Dylan Cease is going up against the Tigers Sunday.  They are 19 for 85 against him (.224).

Eight of the last thirteen games have stayed UNDER 8.5 runs and we think this one will too. We would probably take the UNDER on this one with a total of 8 as well.
