San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals Odds

San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals Odds had Arizona as a -6 point favorite at Bookmaker.com.  For anyone liking the 49ers, betED.com offered a line of +6 ½.    The betting action on this game was fairly even though Bookmaker.com was reporting that San Francisco was getting the 5th heaviest betting activity of Sunday's NFL card after Minnesota, Dallas, Cincinnati and New Orleans.

New York Jets vs. Houston Texans Odds

New York Jets vs. Houston Texans odds had the Texans as a -4 favorite at BetUS.com.  While the Texans were getting over 70 percent of the action on the spread, New York was getting over 80 percent of the action on the money line, which would pay almost $200 for every $100 bet.

The Jets have enjoyed great success over Houston this decade.  They are 3-0 all time (all played since 2003).  Two of these games were played in the Meadowlands.

USC Trojans Win Will be Blow to Books

Following last weekend's biggest win in ages for the online sportsbooks, the time for celebrating has subsided...at least for now.

A win by the USC Trojans of more than 7 points will be a crushing blow for the sportsbooks Saturday night.  That's because 85 percent or more of the action was going the Trojans way and none of the oddsmakers dared to move off the number "7" in the event of a touchdown win by USC.

Denver Broncos vs. Cincinnati Browns Odds: Bet Both

Denver Broncos vs. Cincinnati Browns odds were listed at Bengals -5, though a few books still held onto the -4 ½ while others, like SBG Global, had increased the line to +5 ½ for Broncos bettors.  The betting public was all over the Bengals at an 85 percent clip.  Don't be surprised to see this line move up to -6 when all is said and done.

Neither team is expected to perform well in 2009, but one will get off to a fast start at least.

2009 Week 2 College Football Betting Odds

2009 Week 2 College Football betting odds reflected some of the big changes since the lines opened earlier in the week.

Case in point:  Stanford vs. Wake Forest opened as a PICK and that line has since moved up to -3 Wake Forest.  Granted, most everyone opened this line at -2 with the exception of Bookmaker.com which we suspect got hit hard by wise guys with bets coming in on Wake Forest.

Georgia opened at -8 vs. South Carolina and was now listed with -7 odds across the board.

Notre Dame Line Sits at Firm -3

You know it's going to be a good game when a line opens at and doesn't move off the number 3.  This is the case with Notre Dame vs. Michigan where the line has remained Notre Dame -3 since opening.  No other sportsbook has a line off this number.  The Fighting Irish are road favorites in what is the second most anticipated game of the College Football weekend after USC vs. Ohio State.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Carolina Panthers Betting Odds

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Carolina Panthers Betting Odds provide for an excellent middling opportunity whereby you can bet both sides of this game.

Pinnacle Sports had a line of Philadelphia -1.  Bodog had Carolina at +2 ½.   The bad news is that Pinnacle does not take US customers, so this middling opportunity was available to Gambling911.com readers living in Canada and Europe.

The Eagles were getting 75 percent of the betting action heading into Friday evening.

NFL 2009 Week 1 Picks

Sports Interaction betting analyst Frank Doyle gives his NFL 2009 Week 1 picks.

Eric Mangini's refusal to name a starting quarterback for the Browns in their Week 1 home game against Minnesota is astonishing. It's hard to think of any other NFL team not having named its starter by Week 1, if only for the sake of giving the team a leader around whom they can rally.
