UB.com Suspends Real Cash Play by US Poker Customers in Wake of Crackdown

UB.com officially decided to prohibit US customers from playing in their card room for “real cash” effective Wednesday morning.

A popup announcement appeared on the site for any US resident attempting to access the cash rooms.  The company had permitted “real cash” play for the past few years following an indictment handed down by the US Justice Department.

The GOP has taken a tough stance against legalizing online poker following last Friday’s crackdown, linking the activity to everything from drug trafficking to Al Queda.

It was early 2007 when Gambling911.com first broke the news that the two founders of online payment transfer company, NETeller, had been arrested on US soil.  At the time, NETeller was the biggest facilitator of payments for online gambling websites.
