Full Tilt Poker French Card Room Debuts Below Top 20

With PokerScout.com now counting the French online poker rooms separate from their main entities, Full Tilt Poker, which just obtained a license to operate in France, has debuted at number 22 and averaged a rather paltry 350 “real cash” players over the past week.  That’s worse than Bodog Poker’s 610.  Of course Full Tilt Poker continues to enjoy more than three times the number of players than its closest rival (outside of number one PokerStars) PartyPoker when it comes to “real cash” players overall.

Online Poker Traffic Rises 1.3 Percent

With summer vacations ending, online poker traffic has managed to climb 1.3 percent during the final week of August 2010 according to PokerScout.com, which monitors “real cash” traffic.  The site points out, however, that online poker traffic overall is still down 4 percent over last year at this time.  It will be interesting to see what if any effect a massive hurricane forecast to ride along the U.S. East Coast has on playing trends this week.

Australia Asia Pacific Gambling News (August 31, 2010)

Australian and Asia Pacific gambling, gaming, casino and political news remains all the rage. Aussie James Packer with his Crown, Burswood and City of Dreams Macau remains king of the castle, but what is news is that another couple of Australian politicians have jumped on the anti gambling - anti pokie bandwagon, but it's pretty much a case of a very small but vocal minority.

Jagajeet Chiba: Betfair Marketing Campaign Would be a Tough Sell in States

Jagajeet Chiba discusses Betfair’s latest marketing blitz.  His views and opinion do not necessarily reflect that of Gambling911.com Management.

While Betfair has some presence in the United States through its horse racing arm (this form of online betting is deemed “legal” under the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act), much of its betting exchange remains off limits to U.S. residents. That is the least of their worries.
