PokerStars Signs Danish Poker Pro Theo Jorgensen

The world’s largest online poker room, PokerStars, has signed Danish poker pro Theo Jorgensen.  One of the most successful players, both on the live circuit and online, Jorgensen has amassed more than $1.1 million in live tournaments during this year alone.  His career live winnings are just over $2.4 million.  He finished 30th at this year’s World Series of Poker main event.

Jorgensen, 38, said: “I’m delighted to be joining the world's largest poker site. PokerStars has always hosted the best poker events in the world and sponsors only the most talented players, so I am very excited to be a part of this.”

Jorgensen will begin his stint as brand ambassador by hosting the opening event of the Nordic Championship of Online Poker this coming November 4.

Explaining why Theo Jorgensen was selected for Team PokerStars Pro, PokerStars Nordic Director Michael Holmberg said: “Theo Jorgensen is in every way a fantastic ambassador for poker. Both his impressive merits at the tables and his positive aura fall perfectly in line with PokerStars’ values.”

Other achievements include:

•1st place at WPT Grand Prix de Paris for €638,377 (May 2010)

•1st place at WSOP Europe – £5,000 Pot Limit Omaha – for £218,626 (September 2008)

•4th place at PokerStars.com EPT Copenhagen for $177,225 (January 2007)

•4th place at PokerStars.com EPT Deauville for €118,300 (February 2006)
