Chicago Poker Classic 2013 Points Standings Released

The Chicago Poker Classic 2013 point standings has Pete Falco a runaway favorite at 59.25 with James Teter coming in closes at 39.5 points. 

This event, taking place at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana, has drawn significant interest and decent traffic to the Gambling911.com website.  Information pertaining to this popular event has been sparse across the Net.

Daniel Negreanu Issues EPT London Challenge to Gus Hansen (Video)

Outspoken poker pro has issued a challenge to Denmark player Gus Hansen for the upcoming EPT London.  Negreanu, a PokerStars team player, wants a heads up “battleship style” match against Hansen and other Full Tilt Poker pros that include the likes of Viktor Blom and Tom Dwan.

Marvin ‘MadMarvin’ Guido Rettenmaier Tops Global Poker Index

Poker pro Marvin Rettenmaier has topped the Global Poker Index (GPI) for the last week of February 2013, knocking Dan Smith out of the number one spot.

The German poker player, who currently resides in London, England, finished in 1st place at the EPT Prague tournament held this past December.  He walked away with a cool €365,300.

Last week, Rettenmaier finished 5th at the 2013 Austrian Poker Festival - WPT & GSOP Live No Limit Hold'em - WPT Main Event QE, leaving with €44,790.

Remi Castaignon Leads at Final of 2013 EPT Deauville

French player Remi Castaignon, 29, has a massive chip lead going into the final of EPT Deauville with 9,900,000, more than 40% of the chips in play. Three Lebanese players have also made the final and now account for 37.5% of the field, from the 1.92% who started the event. Lebanon is the current EPT Country of the Year.

Cyril Andre Leads Final 23 at EPT Deauville 2013

French pro Cyril Andre is chip leader going into Day 5 of the €5,300 EPT Deauville Main Event with 2,108,000.

The 25-year-old from Toulouse - known as "Don Limit" online - has been playing poker for around five years and is considered one of the best online cash game players in France. His best live result to date was seventh in the Partouche Main Event in 2010 for €187,500.

Among those who will also be returning for Day 5 tomorrow are James Mitchell, Gordon Huntly, Aurelien Guiglini, Jeffrey Hakim, Glen Cymbaluk and serial PokerStars qualifier Yury Gulyy.

Andrei Stoenescu Leads for Day 3 of EPT9 Deauville

Romanian PokerStars qualifier Andrei Stoenescu is chip leader going into Day 3 of EPT Deauville. The 24-year-old high stakes cash game pro from Bucharest, who came third at EPT Madrid last March, has 485,600.

There are 154 players left in contention for the €770,000 first prize, with 120 getting paid. They include Team PokerStars Pros Vanessa Rousso, celebrating her 30th birthday today, Matthias De Meulder and EPT Dortmund champion Sandra Naujoks. The €5,300 event attracted 782 players, creating a €3,753,600 prize pool.

David Ostrom is chip leader going into Day 2 of EPT Deauville, with 419 players left. The 33-year-old Swedish PokerStars qualifier from Hultsfred has 212,600 chips, just ahead of EPT veteran Casey Kastle who has 204,500.

Mike Matusow Beats Phil Hellmuth in NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship

Mike Matusow beat Phil Hellmuth in the highly anticipated NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship, taking in $750k.

The National Heads Up Championship returned to the Caesars Palace Las Vegas for the period January 24-26, 2013 following a year-long hiatus.  This event will be broadcast on NBC.

Adrián Mateos Díaz Wins 2013 Estrellas Poker Tour Madrid

After five intense poker action days, the Estrellas Madrid finished with Spanish player Adrián Mateos Díaz as the winner of the event. Rafa Nadal Wins First Poker Tournament

There are some people who simply have winning in their blood. Tennis legend Rafa Nadal is one of those people, and he proved it again Wednesday as he won his very first PokerStars tournament.

Nadal beat out 47 other players in a €10 freeze-out tourney on PokerStars.es. It took him just a little more than two hours to beat the field for a €152.40 first prize.

Vanessa Selbst Wins PCA $25k High Roller

Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst became the highest-earning female poker player of all time today when she won the $25k High Roller tournament at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure for $1,424,420.

Selbst won the three-day event after beating Russian player Vladimir Troyanovskiy heads-up. Afterwards, she said it was the toughest final table she had ever played.

Dimitar Danchev Wins $1,859,000 at 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure

EPT Sanremo runner-up Dimitar Danchev has become the first Bulgarian to win a major poker tournament after taking down the 2013 PCA Main Event for $1,859,000.

The 26-year-old, who was already top of the Bulgarian all-time money list, won his seat to the $10,000 event in a $700 qualifier on PokerStars. He has been playing poker professionally for around three years but first came to prominence when he was runner-up at the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Sanremo tournament in 2011, where he earned €600,000.
