Bayern has won the 2014 Breeders Cup Classic at 8/1 odds but there was some controversy due to an early break jumping out of the gate.

The top three finishers were:

Bayern
Toast of New York

California Chrome

There was an inquiry in which case Toast of New York would have been considered the winner at 16/1 odds. Disqualifications are very rare.

Bayern is known for his “feast or famine”, meaning his unpredictability.
