With the Summer Olympics only weeks away, the host city of Beijing, China, has been working around the clock to deal with various plagues. First came the dreaded Red Tide Horror and now comes word that locusts have descended upon the region.

``There's an old saying in China that good things only come after enduring a lot of hardship,'' Jiang Xiaoyu, vice president of the Beijing organizing committee, said yesterday in Beijing. ``We expected to face many challenges so it's not a surprise. These issues aren't major problems.''

NASCAR Indecent Exposure Case Leads to Ban

Tim Knox and Bud Moore have been placed on indefinite administrative paid leave by NASCAR following allegations that they exposed themselves to a former employee, the Associated Press reports this weekend.

NASCAR will not reveal the identities of the officials sent home Friday from Kentucky Speedway, but a person familiar with the investigation confirmed to AP on Saturday that Knox and Moore were suspended. The person requested anonymity because NASCAR's investigation is ongoing.

Tiger Woods has more career major wins and career PGA Tour wins than any other active golfer. This was his 14th Major win.

The 2008 US Open playoff went into sudden death beyond the 18th hole following a clutch birdie by Woods. It was just the third time since instituted in 1954 that sudden death took place.

Woods had an advantage in the 19th hole after he hit within the fairway zone. Rocco Mediate went left in the bunker.
