Wynn Resorts Scheduled to Report Quarterly Results

Wynn Resorts (NASDAQ:WYNN) will announce its earnings results on Thursday, January 30th.

Shares of Wynn Resorts (NASDAQ: WYNN) opened at 197.15 on Wednesday. Wynn Resorts has a 52 week low of $113.39 and a 52 week high of $216.99. The stock’s 50-day moving average is $195.5 and its 200-day moving average is $163.. The company has a market cap of $19.850 billion and a P/E ratio of 31.05.

British Poker Pro Nigel Goldman Vanishes Amidst Embezzlement Fears

Nigel Goldman, a British poker pro popular on the big name tournament circuit, has gone missing from his Costa Del Sol, Spain mansion.

It’s not just Goldman who has gone missing, however.  Some by £2.5m in clients funds have also vanished.

The warning signs may have been there from the get-go.

Kentucky Baptists to Fight Gambling Expansion in State

(Associated Press) - The Kentucky Baptist Convention is speaking out against expanded gambling in a new radio ad aimed at stirring grassroots opposition to legalizing casinos.

The ad is debuting today on Christian radio stations. It features the Baptist Convention's executive director, Paul Chitwood. He says casino operators want to "cash in on the misery" of others.

Neteller customers Targeted in Phishing Scheme

Customers of the popular online wallet Neteller were targets of an apparent phishing scheme, it was revealed this week.

Numerous customers received emails over the weekend notifying them that their accounts would be closed if they did not provide pertinent personal details.  Those emails turned out to be fake.

California Online Poker Bill Sponsor Sen. Rod Wright Convicted of Felony

The man most responsible for bringing the discussion of legalized online poker to the state of California has been convicted of perjury and voter fraud.

A Los Angeles jury on Tuesday convicted state Sen. Roderick D. Wright on all eight counts in his perjury and voter fraud trial.

Gambling Expansion a Hot Topic Tuesday in Illinois: Odds Improve

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (Associated Press) — A state lawmaker believes his latest bid to expand Illinois gambling may finally bear fruit now that the state's thorny pension crisis has been resolved to the satisfaction of the governor who twice spiked measures that would have added casinos.

State Rep. Robert Rita, a Democrat from the Chicago suburb of Blue Island, effectively was to launch his quest Tuesday with a meeting at East St. Louis' Casino Queen, where he was to seek input from the region's casinos, a horse track and local officials.

Poker Pro Dario Sammartino Leads at EPT 10 Deauville Main Event

Italian pro Dario Sammartino is leading the remaining 137 players as we go in to Day 3 of the EPT Deauville Main Event. The 26-year-old, who was third in the FPS High Roller a few days ago for €63,800 and fourth in the UKIPT London Main Event in October, has 427,200, closely followed by EPT Loutraki champion Zimnan Ziyard with 392,500. His biggest live cash to date was runner-up at IPT Sanremo in October for €95,000.

Singer Susan Boyle Applies for Job With Bookmaker Ladbrokes

Say what? 

Could one of the best voices in music today, Susan Boyle, have fallen on hard times?

People Magazine has revealed that Ms. Boyle, 52, recently applied for a part time gig at British bookmaker Ladbrokes.

The 16-hour-a-week job at the Blackburn, Scotland shop pays $10 an hour.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes says, "We were as shocked as Simon, Amanda and Piers when Susan asked about the part-time vacancy. She once applied for a job with us before hitting the big time, so it's good to see she's still dreaming the dream of working for Ladbrokes."

Feds Drop Case Against Reputed Mob Boss Who Twice Beat Gambling Charges

PHILADELPHIA (Associated Press) — Federal prosecutors say they won't seek to retry a reputed Philadelphia mob boss who twice beat charges in a gambling and racketeering case.

Joseph Ligambi could have faced a third trial after jurors acquitted him last week of witness tampering while deadlocking on three other charges. But prosecutors filed a motion Monday seeking to dismiss the remaining counts. A judge still has to sign off.

Chris Day Leads at Even of Day 1A of EPT 10 Deauville Main Event

British player Chris Day has a super-narrow lead over Finland's Jorma Nuutinen at the end of Day 1a of the EPT Deauville Main Event tonight. Day has 154,100 to Nuutinen's 154,000. Pennsylvania Explores Online Gambling, Keno

HARRISBURG — (Associated Press) - With top Pennsylvania state lawmakers and Gov. Tom Corbett seeking ways to plug a projected budget deficit, they are considering expanding lottery gambling and, possibly, legalizing online gambling.

The Senate Finance Committee will hear testimony Wednesday that focuses partly on adding keno to the Pennsylvania Lottery's game lineup.

Royal Flush: $2.7 Mil in Counterfeit Poker Chips Found Clogged in Borgata Pipe

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – (Associated Press) -  A clogged pipe at an Atlantic City, N.J., casino has led to the discovery of $2.7 million in counterfeit poker chips that had been flushed down a toilet.

Authorities say a Fayetteville, N.C., man sneaked fake chips into a poker tournament at Atlantic City's Borgata casino, leading to the cancellation of one of its events last week.

Christian Lusardi was arrested Friday on charges including theft and rigging a public contest. It's unknown if he has a lawyer.

Gambling Addicted Former Morgan Stanley Banker Gets Life for Killing Wife

A former product controller at Morgan Stanley has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a UK court.

Manas Kapoor, 35, strangled his wife to death the same day he was to attend a disciplinary hearing after it was discovered he had gambled away millions of dollars belonging to the firm.

Kapoor admitted he was £8,000 in debt and was borrowing from friends and family to support his gambling addiction.

Hearing Scheduled on Illinois Gambling Expansion

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (Associated Press) - The lawmaker seeking approval for expanded gambling in Illinois will conduct several hearings to get public input.

Rep. Bob Rita is a Blue Island Democrat. He said Thursday that the first hearing will be Jan. 28 at the Casino Queen riverboat casino in East St. Louis.

Rita took over the expansion plan last spring after Gov. Pat Quinn vetoed past attempts for lacking ethical and legal safeguards.
