In light of a US Government crackdown affecting Internet poker's two biggest rooms, PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, Gambling911.com recently spoke to a tax expert who questioned what might happen if some of the online poker players caught up in the recent freeze of $40 million were found to have had $10,000 or more in their accounts at any given time (or were paid out in excess of this amount over the past year) and failed to file a 90-22.1.

Among the favorites to win the 2009 World Series of Poker main event, Phil Ivey walked off with Bracelet number 7 at this year's Event #25 - the $10,000 Omaha 8/Stud 8 championship. This marked the second bracelet won by Ivey at this year's WSOP. He also received the top prize of $220,538.

The first PokerStars.it Italian Poker Tour (IPT) event in San Remo ended after a seven hour final table battle it was PokerStars.it qualifier Stefano Puccilli win the first prize of €120,000. The 37 year old Italian banker beat fellow PokerStars qualifier Vittorio Meraviglia who cashed € 75,000 in second place.
