Regal Ransom Kentucky Derby Odds at +2000 Despite Top Earnings

The field for the 135th running of the Kentucky Derby Saturday, to be run on May 2, 2009 at Churchill Downs, is limited to 20 horses.  Oddsmakers at Bookmaker.com have listed more than 20 horses and there is a good chance that more than 20 will be entered.  If this is the case, preference will be given to entrants based on earnings in graded stakes races, according to Bloodhorse.com.

As a 5/1 favorite to win the 2009 Kentucky Derby, Pioneer of the Nile was looking hot early on at Churchill Downs.  The horse covered the distance in 1:00.80 during this week's workouts. The time was the fourth-fastest of 19 at the distance over a surface that seemed to be playing slower as the morning wore on.

Free NBA Play from Tony George: Lakers vs. Jazz

In all honesty, do you really think a team, who has lost 10 games in a row, playing the Lakers at the Staples Center in the playoffs has a fighting chance?  The reason the Jazz are pretenders in the NBA, just like any other team in the NBA who fail in the post season, is the fact they have not and cannot win on the road.  LA is the best team right now in the NBA, maybe arguable with Cleveland, but no doubt the beat in the West.
