What a wake-up call that was for Minnesota in Arizona on Sunday night. The Vikings were taught a lesson by the Cardinals and have to be worried about two things. If Brett Favre's age has finally become a factor, and if defenses are figuring out the Vikings' offensive line.

Adrian Peterson's talent is not in doubt and once he's in the open field he's extremely difficult to stop, but the Cards got through the Vikings' line again and again to stuff Peterson in the backfield, before he started rolling at all. The Bengals visit Minnesota this Sunday, and the Bengals are second in rushing defense. I'm not quite sure if the Bengals have the weapons to stay with Vikings, not least as the Vikings have to bounce back from last week, but I don't think this will be a shootout. Therefore, all signs point to a total of under 43.5 points with Sports Interaction as the first of my NFL Week 14 picks.

The Chicago Bears' celebration of a win over hapless, helpless St Louis last Sunday shows how far the Monsters of Midway's standards have fallen since all the Cutler hype at the start of the season. Green Bay is in Soldier Field this weekend as a road favorite, and the Packers have successfully dealt with their loss in the Favre Bowl to make themselves front-runners for a wild-card place in the playoffs. Green Bay is -3.5 at Chicago and the Packers are good enough to cover that number. Green Bay -3.5 at Chicago with Sports Interaction is the second pick of the week.

Finally, San Diego gets a three point start at Dallas with Sports Interaction this weekend. The Chargers look a really good bet with those points.

In the past number of years, Dallas has tanked after Thanksgiving, and the relatively dismal display by them against the Giants last Sunday suggests that the Cowboys' woes continue in this regard. And they can't blame it all on Jessica Simpson this time.

By contrast, San Diego struggles at the start of the season and then gets good when winter arrives. The Chargers didn't do well in Cleveland last Sunday but maybe Cleveland isn't as bad as people think. It's very hard to have faith in Dallas and that makes San Diego +3 at Dallas with Sports Interaction the final pick of the week.
