Just two weeks into the NFL season, the Los Angeles Chargers look like the league's biggest disappointment.
Despite entering consecutive home games as touchdown-plus favorites, they were completely dominated in identical 26-14 losses to the Cardinals and Raiders.
Surprisingly, the early slump hasn't made Jim Harbaugh the betting favorite to get the axe first this season. He currently pays out $1000 for every $100 bet.
Las Vegas (2-0) beat the Chargers (0-2) on the road for the first time since 2020, a game that was played without fans because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Raiders, who maintain a strong Southern California fan base, had lost four straight to the Chargers by double digits.
While Harbaugh's seat is warming up, Todd Bowles has taken over as the new favorite to be dismissed first at BetOnline Sports & Casino.
Leonard Joseph Fournette III, the former NFL star who was a running back in the National Football League for seven seasons, said on his Fourth and South podcast it is time for Tampa Bay to move on from Bowles.
“We all know the standard. To me, I just feel like maybe the time is up,” Fournette said of Bowles. “Just being real. It’s time for Coach Bowles to wrap it up and move on. Now if they go, 0-3, bring the alarm because we all know, even despite when [Tom] Brady left and Baker [Mayfield] came in, you still had a hell of a good season. Man, I don’t know what to say at this point.”
