UFC 107 on Saturday, December 12th features a lightweight title fight between defending champion BJ Penn and Diego Sanchez.  This bout is one of five on the main pay-per-view card in addition to six preliminary fights which are not scheduled to be televised.  Penn is a 3-1 favorite in UFC betting odds at SBG Global to defend his UFC lightweight title against Sanchez.

Many people are hoping for a great UFC 107 card since the recent Ultimate Fighter Finale was not very good.  The UFC 107 matchups look a lot more appealing headlined by Penn and Sanchez.  This will be the third title defense for Penn who has simply dominated his opponents recently.  He submitted Kenny Florian at UFC 101 and overall Penn has now won four straight fights.

Sanchez has been perfect in the lightweight division including a split decision win over Clay Guida in the Ultimate Fighter Season 9 Finale.  He is still considered a notch below Penn though and that is why he is about a 3-1 underdog on Saturday.  The one thing that Sanchez does have is heart so you can bet this will be a very intense fight on Saturday. Sanchez will not be afraid to slug it out with Penn but no one has proven they can do that and win.  That fact alone makes this bout worth watching in UFC 107.

The two men that lost to Penn and Sanchez meet up in one of the televised bouts as Clay Guida and Kenny Florian do battle. The winner of this fight could easily get another title shot. Florian is about a 2-1 favorite in UFC odds at SBG Global. Another fight worth watching is the one between Cheick Kongo and Frank Mir.  These two hate each other and this fight will have a lot of action. Also on the main card is about between Paul Buentello vs. Stefan Struve and it will be Jon Fitch taking on Mike Pierce.

The Preliminary card has a total of six bouts.  It will be Alan Belcher vs. Wilson Gouveia, Kevin Burns vs. T.J. Grant, Shane Nelson vs. Matt Wiman, Rousimar Palhares vs. Lucio Linhares, Ricardo Funch vs. Johny Hendricks and Edgar Garcia vs. DaMarques Johnson.  UFC 107 should be exciting and an even that lives up to its advance billing.
