World Series of Poker to Offer $1 Million Buy-In: Prize Will be $12.3 Mil

Just days after it was revealed that the Manila Millions Super High Roller will become the biggest cash tournament in history, the World Series of Poker has announced its own $1 million buy-in.  The Manila event takes place next week and already has a number of top pros confirmed including Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan.

EPT Berlin 2012 Largest Poker Tournament in Germany Kicks Off the 16th

We are just days away from the start of the EPT Berlin 2012.  This event is among the most memorable on the European Poker Tour following an armed robbery that took place during the final day in 2010.  Last year’s EPT Berlin was much more subdued with Ben Wilinofsky taking home the €825,000 after beating a 773-strong field.

Scott Seiver Wins 2012 PartyPoker Premier League V

Scott Seiver has won the 2012 PartyPoker Premier League V, beating out a star-studded final table that included the likes of Patrik Antonius, Phil Laak, Tony G and Daniel Cates.   

16 players took part in the $125k buy-in event. 

Each player in the PartyPoker Premier League V received $2,000 for each point earned in the preliminary heats, thus helping to boost the overall winnings.

Here is a look at the final table standings and prize payouts:

Epic Meltdown: Poker League Now $8 Million in the Hole

The disastrous Epic Poker League is sinking faster than the Titanic, minus the life rafts.

CardPlayer.com reports that EPL’s parent company’s bankruptcy filing lists liabilities of $8 million, not the $5 million previously asserted

The company managed to earn just $37,052 in income over a 14 month period while racking up $7,892,242 in total liabilities, CardPlayer.com noted.

Irish Open 2012 Final Table Determined

The Irish Open 2012 Final Table has been announced with Ian Simpson leading the pack in terms of chip count.  David “Dixie” Dean came in a close second.  Both players are relative unknowns with Dean’s last big live circuit win occurring at the Inaugural Poker Championship – The Sportsman Showdown – in 2006.

Jannick Wrang Wins 2012 EPT Campione

PokerStars qualifier Jannick “EDWARDHOPPER” Wrang from Denmark has won EPT Campione for €640,000 after beating American Olivier Busquet heads-up. Wrang is the third Danish EPT champion in a row following Mickey Petersen’s triumph in Copenhagen in February and Frederick Jensen’s win in Madrid two weeks ago.

EPT Campione 2012 Final Table Set: Fabrice Soulier Leads

The final table of the EPT Campione 2012 has been set with Fabrice Soulier leading in chips. 

Soulier is a successful poker pro who has nearly $4 million in live tournament winnings to date. 

The Frenchman has an amazing 82 cashes and 11 first place finishes.  He was declared the winner of this past year’s World Series of Poker H.O.R.S.E Championship.

Hungarian PokerStars player Balazs Botond has a massive lead at EPT Campione going into Day 3. Botond has 646,000 with EPT Tallinn winner Ronny Kaiser currently second with 505,900. Botond's best EPT result so far was 13th place at EPT Vienna last season for €26,000.

Davide Andreoni Leads 2012 EPT Campione Day1a

178 players have taken part in the 2012 European Poker Tour Campione, an event held in a small town that borders Switzerland and Italy.  Campione is both an Italian enclave and a Swiss territory. 

It’s an interesting little town that takes advantage of its EU VAT exempt status by operating a famous the Casinò di Campione, as gambling laws are less stringent than in either Italy or Switzerland (also a legacy of the pre-World War II era).
