UK poker player James Dempsey has won the first ever iSeries Live poker event, beating out Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott and taking home the $100,000 prize.

The $10,000 buy in, ten-handed sit ‘n’ go game was the first of its kind, broadcast live over the Web with hole cards revealed.  PaddyPower.com, which sponsored the event, allowed customers to bet on the iSeries Live as it happened.

The game lasted over 8 hours.

This one was winner-take-all.  Maria Ho, though she did not cash, enjoyed one of her biggest finishes ever in third place while noted poker pros Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth finished 8th and 10th, respectively.
