Another Vegas Chip Robbery: This Time At The Rio

A fake-mustached man robbed the Rio Casino in Las Vegas out of $36,000 in chips just weeks after the alleged infamous Bellagio chip robber was arrested.

Authorities say that the man entered the Rio Casino Thursday morning wearing a fedora, sun glasses and fake mustache.  He pulled out a gun after a dealer attempted to stop the holdup.  The robber escaped via a taxi cab.

Bellagio Chip Bandit Hearing Suspended Until Next Month

A preliminary hearing for Anthony M. Carleo has been suspended until next month.  Carleo is charged with a brazen $1.5 million armed chip robbery at the Bellagio Hotel in December.

Defense attorney Bill Terry was granted time to speak with an informant who was at several alleged meetings that took place between Carleo and an undercover Las Vegas Metro police officer. 

Carleo was arrested on February 3 after attempting to sell the stolen chips to the undercover officer.

Gaddafi Son Al-Saadi Financing Mafia Film

The son of Libya strongman Muammar al-Gaddafi, Al-Saadi Gaddafi, is financing a film about the Mafia as part of his Hollywood investment business.

Bloomberg reported that Al-Saadi, a one-time footballer suspended by the Italian Olympic league in 2003 for steroid use, invested in a $100 million Los Angeles-based film production fund called Natural Selection, founded by Matty Beckerman.

Three Poker Players Appear in Court Over Cocaine Trafficking Charges: FARC Ties?

Three Australian poker players appeared before the Melbourne Chief Magistrate to be formally charged with multiple cocaine trafficking offenses.   

David Saab, 37, Darren Francis Hughes, 27, and Robert Alan Remeeus, 27, are each accused of importing and distribution of cocaine during the Aussie Millions poker tournament.  The three have remained uncooperative.
