For those of you who follow the Phil Hellmuth Twitter page as we here at Gambling911.com do, you’ll find that most of his tweets pertain to hanging out with U.S. Olympics swimming superstar Michael Phelps.  Hellmuth of course is a representative for the website UB.com, which this week announced new ownership.  By the looks of things, it appears that Stuart Gordon, who is assuming command at UB.com, intends to build on the already impressive portfolio of poker pros representing North America’s 3rd largest online poker room.

Phelps likes to play online poker and admitted to doing so during the Summer Olympics two years ago.

He was introduced to the world of professional poker by Doyle Brunson, and at the time there was some speculation he might become a DoylesRoom.com player.  That never came to fruition.

With the likelihood that online poker rooms may obtain licenses in the U.S. as early as next year, the chances of Phelps accepting a sponsorship deal with a card room like UB.com increases.

In case you missed them, these are some of Hellmuth’s Michael Phelps tweets:

Had a fun few days hanging out with MP3 (Michael Phelps) + his friends. MP3 showed perfect class + grace all week. Plus, MP3 is a warrior!

Phelps takes round 1 of Phelps vs Hellmuth! And he knocked in a six foot putt on 18 (in the dark!) for all of the biscuits! Still...fun day.
