PartyPoker Borgata to Surpass Merge Poker Network by Mid January

Another sign of just how successful online poker in the state of New Jersey has become: PartyPoker Borgata is set to surpass Merge Gaming and the Chico Poker Network’s traffic in the US.

Both Merge and Chico operate offshore and accept customers from most US states.  PartyPoker Borgata has a little ways to go before catching up to surging Winning Poker Network (home to Americas Cardroom) and top 10 traffic site Bodog Poker.

Paddy Power Takes Swipe at ‘Fat, Lazy Footballers’ in ‘Ball of Shame’ Ad (Video)

Ireland’s largest bookmaker, Paddy Power, debuted its latest ad during this past weekend’s Arsenal v Tottenham FA Cup game on ITV.  The so-called “Ball of Shame” advertisement takes a swipe at “lazy, fat footballers”.

More specifically, the betting firm seems to take issue with aforementioned “lazy, fat footballers” also making millions of pounds (dollars).

North Korea Leader Feeds Uncle to 120 Dogs: Paddy Power Ends Rodman Deal

Reports surfaced this past weekend that North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un had his uncle stripped naked, thrown into a cage, and eaten alive by a pack of 120 ravenous hounds, this according to a Chinese press report.

Delaware to Review Gambling Sector

DOVER — (Associated Press) - A panel examining challenges facing Delaware’s gambling industry is close to submitting recommendations for state lawmakers to consider.

The lottery and gaming study commission will convene today at Legislative Hall to review its list of options.

The panel also planned to review an accounting firm’s report on economic and financial benchmarks for Delaware’s three casinos.

Online Poker Affiliate Programs in New Jersey Won’t Allow Rakeback Deals

Many of today’s online poker affiliate programs offer rake back as a means of building a site’s business but rakeback offers will be prohibited in the state of New Jersey.

Such deals on the Web today tend to allow for between 25 percent to 35 percent rakeback and are typically administered by a third party such as poker room affiliates or dedicated rakeback websites.  Think of the rakeback system as similar to that of a casino comp program whereby gamblers are rewarded with comped rooms and food based on their volume of play.

Candy Ass Piece of S***: Suns Eric Bledsoe Blasts Gambler ‘NotGonnaStop’ in Tweet

Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe responded to a gambler who accused the NBA player of being a “candy ass piece of shit” for electing to sit out Thursday night’s game with a knee ailment.  The gambler, using the Twitter handle “NotGonnaStop”, claimed Bledsoe’s decision to sit out with little pre-game notice cost him thousands.

Maryland Live Casino to Hire Atlantic Club Employees Following Closure

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - (Associated Press) -- A Maryland casino will hold a job fair next week for soon-to-be laid-off workers at Atlantic City's Atlantic Club Casino Hotel.

Maryland Live! will interview employees of the Atlantic Club who will lose their jobs when it closes Jan. 13. The casino has more than 100 openings across all departments, and says it will eventually need even more workers than that.

‘Sopranos’ Star Tied to Cop’s Murder to be Set Free

“Sopranos” actor Lillo Brancato will be a free man Tuesday (December 31, 2013) after serving less than 10 years for a botched robbery that led to the murder of NYPD cop Daniel Enchautegui. 

The 28-year-old officer was fatally shot in the chest on December 10, 2005 upon arriving at the burglary-in-progress at his neighbor’s home.

Nevada Casino Revenues Up 12 Percent in November

LAS VEGAS (Associated Press) - State officials say Nevada gambling revenues went up nearly 12 percent this November compared with a year earlier.

The state Gaming Control Board released a report Monday showing casinos won $876 million in November.

Revenues jumped almost 23 percent year-over-year on the Las Vegas Strip, which brought in $529 million last month.

Downtown winnings fell 1 percent to $38 million.

Reno casino revenue climbed 17 percent to $43 million, while South Lake Tahoe winnings dropped 2 percent to $17 million.

2014 Starts Ominously With New Jersey Governor Watching Gambling

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (Associated Press) -- The new year is a crucial one for Atlantic City's future, and 2014 won't start auspiciously.

This is the fourth year of a five-year grace period New Jersey Gov.
