Defendants in Alabama Political Gambling Corruption Trial

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — The defendants in the Alabama gambling corruption trial starting Monday in Montgomery:

Milton E. McGregor of Montgomery; owner of VictoryLand casino in Shorter; charged with one count of conspiracy, six counts of federal program bribery and 11 counts of honest services mail and wire fraud.

Merge Poker to Stop Taking New US Players Through Month of June

The Merge Poker Network has halted new US signups through the month of June as it works to incorporate new payment processing platforms and add more customer service agents. 

While the network could begin accepting new US players as early as the end of June, the network may extend this policy through the summer depending on how quickly it can get new processing in place.

Macau Says Gambling Revenue Surges 42 pct in May

HONG KONG, June 1 (Reuters) - Gambling revenue in Macau, the world's largest gaming market, jumped 42.4 percent in May to 24.3 billion patacas ($3 billion), the Macau government said on Wednesday, bolstered by unabating demand from mainland tourists eager to gamble in China's only legal casino destination.
