Daniel Negreanu: Epic Poker League Will be Epic Failure

Never afraid to speak his mind, poker pro Daniel Negreanu has spoken out against the newly formed “pro-only invitational” Epic Poker League.

Negreanu has decided to sit out the newborn event and it is no secret that he and Epic Commissioner Annie Duke have little love for one another.  A few months back, he referred to Duke as a “f***ing c***”.

Haseeb Qureshi Responds Following Cheating Scandal

After CardRunners.com released talented poker coach Haseeb Qureshi from his duties this week, Qureshi took to his blog to explain his transgressions.

The poker instructor was found to be using the account of a notorious cheat, Jose “Girah” Macedo as was pro Daniel “jungleman12” Cates.  Macedo admitted to cheating players out of a five-figure amount from his Lock Poker account (Lock has since locked it and booted Macedo).

Online Poker Ban: Where The Pros Are Heading Now

With Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and UB.com out of the US market, hundreds – perhaps thousands – of poker pros have been left homeless. 

What to do?

Pack up and move elsewhere, whether it be Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean or Europe, just as long as it’s not the USA.  The online poker sites left catering to US players are almost entirely recreational-based (DoylesRoom, Cake Poker, BetOnline, Bodog, Everleaf, and, it appears, Merge is re-entering the fray).

Poker Pro Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi Gets Breeders Cup Sponsorship

Last year’s World Series of Poker finalist Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi has received a Breeders Cup sponsorship.

Mizrachi, who just last year was in such dire financial straits he lost two homes to foreclosure and owed a few hundred thousand in back taxes, is the youngest poker player on the top 10 all time money list.  To date, he has won more than $11 million in live poker tournaments.  Mizrachi won a few million dollars at last year’s WSOP in multiple events including his top nine finish in the main event.
