€947,300 for Winner of Biggest Ever EPT Barcelona €10K High Roller

Since the €10k High Roller first appeared on the EPT Barcelona schedule in Season 7, its popularity has been growing every single year.

Inevitably, the record books had to be re-written yet again this season with a 506-entry field. This comprised 401 unique players and 105 re-entries (setting a new record for both).

Such a large field obviously brings with it a massive prize pool and 71 players will share the €4,908,200 in payouts. The champion will eventually bank €947,300 along with the coveted title.

Oleksii Khoroshenin Tops Day 3 of the EPT12 Barcelona Main Event

Khoroshenin currently lies in fifth place on the Ukrainian all-time money list with more than $1.8m in live tournament winnings.

Liv Boeree Makes Deep Run at EPT Barcelona €25K High Roller

A deep run in one-day High Rollers is not for the faint-hearted, but if simply making a final table earns you north of €100k, then 15 hours of work suddenly seems alright.

Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree, Martin Finger and Mark Teltscher kept going until 5am when casino regulations meant bagging up and arranging another time to play down to a winner. The three former EPT champions will resume their battle for another major EPT trophy (and first prize of €865,900) at 4pm on Thursday. All are guaranteed at least €391,000.

The flagship event of the EPT12 Barcelona Poker Festival kicked off today as 459 players took part in the €5,300 Main Event on Day 1a.

Imad Derwiche collected 170,000 to seize the lead tonight - certainly a better day for him than Sunday when he fell just two places shy of the money in the €50k Super High Roller. Derwiche last caught our attention on the final day of the EPT11 Grand Final when he was runner-up to Charlie Carrel in the €25k High Roller, taking €750,000 for second place.

Sylvain Loosli Wins EPT Barcelona €50K Super High Roller for €1,224,000

A stunning comeback reaped massive dividends for French pro Sylvain Loosli tonight when he became the EPT12 Barcelona €50k Super High Roller champion - for a hefty €1,224,000 first prize.

When play reached seven-handed (from a record-breaking field of 99 entries), almost nobody would have bet on the Frenchman who - at one point - was down to less than four big blinds. All-in preflop, and just one card away from elimination, he spiked what he needed on the river, made a double through EPT Player of the Year Dzmitry Urbanovich and survived.

Mixing Poker and Casino - Is It a Good Idea?

Online gambling has a long and colorful history - and it started with online poker, long before the first fully functional real money internet casino was launched in 1994. The system was far from being as user-friendly as it is today, though - poker games were played in IRC chat rooms, with a piece of software dealing the cards. The users had to type in commands using the IRC interface. IRC Poker was played with imaginary money, but has attracted many big names, like WSOP champion Chris Ferguson, who first started playing poker through this system.

Michael Egan Leads EPT Barcelona €50K Super High Roller in Final Day

The EPT12 Barcelona €50k Super High Roller has been a parade of the some of the most famous poker players in the world, but it is the relatively unknown Michael Egan who has sneaked under the radar to take the chip lead in to the final day.

The Australian is a relative newcomer to European events and all his cashes to date have come in the land down under. Winning the Victorian Poker Championship for A$160,700 has been Egan's career's highlight but that might be about to change here in Barcelona.

French pro Hugo Pingray is leading the 485 players who made it through the final start day of Estrellas Barcelona Friday.

Day 1c attracted at least 1,570 players which, combined with the 1,122 Day 1b entries and 592 on Day 1a, means the event is well over the 3,200 player mark and has easily surpassed last season's record-breaking 2,560-strong field.
