A loaded field of 85 unique players plus 14 re-entries: that's the raw stats for the EPT12 Barcelona €50k Super High Roller. The 99-entry field smashed last season's numbers (77 entries), breaking the record for both unique and total entries.

A juicy €4,753,485 will be divvied up between the top 15 players. The new champion will be rewarded with €1,224,000 while the minimal payout stands at €80,800. Last year, Olivier Busquet beat Daniel Colman after cutting a heads-up deal to take €896,434.

After yesterday's impressive 93 entries, the over night late registration attracted a further six players to join the Day 2 field. Vladimir Troyanovskiy bought in for the first time while Day 1 players JC Alvarado and Martin Kabrhel opted to re-enter.
Andrey Andreev, Andrew Chen and Zvi Stern sneaked in to the Super High Roller for just €5k via the "reverse freeroll" satellite. Even players who had already made it toDay 2 were permitted to jump in the satellite and take cash if they won a seat. Americans David Peters and Connor Drinan successfully did so, meaning they were paid €50k as they were already sitting on 497,000 and 474,500 chips respectively.

This meant 72 players kicking off Day 2 which will either play down to a final table or ten levels, whichever comes is sooner. Michael Egan, Igor Kurganov, Christoph Vogelsang and Steve O'Dwyer are among current big stacks, wobbling around a million chip mark while Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier and Team Online's Isaac Haxton have been eliminated. Around fifty players remain in contention for the title.
