San Antonio vs. Memphis Line Has Grizzlies Favored: Another Dog Ready to Bite?

The San Antonio vs. Memphis line had the Grizzlies a -2 favorite at BetUS.com.

As Gambling911.com has been noting, the NBA Playoffs first round dogs have gone 15-6-1 Against The Spread heading into Saturday’s play.  On paper, the Spurs look like they stand an easy shot of helping the trend alive.  After all, when is it normal to see San Antonio as an underdog?

The problem here is that the Grizzlies stunned San Antonio in Game 1 while covering the spread in Game 2 with an 87-93 point loss.

Dogs Do It Again In First Round of NBA Playoffs: Bookies Make Out Big

Wednesday night the underdogs managed to go 2-1, making for a 10-5 record to date for the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

Despite a pretty decisive win by the Los Angeles Lakers vs. the New Orleans Hornets Wednesday night, they still failed to cover the 11.5 point spread. Los Angeles managed to win by 87-78.  The Lakers' defense limited the Hornets to 78 points on 39 percent shooting.

Dogs Do It Again With First Round of NBA Playoffs

Just how many underdogs have won in the first round of the 2011 NBA Playoffs?

Those dastardly dogs beat the favorites in 6 of the 8 weekend games.

Monday night the Pacers managed to cover against the Bulls with a 96-90 win.  They were +12 underdogs.  Only two Round One Playoffs games were scheduled for Monday with the Heat easily winning Against The Spread, a rare favorite to win.

On Tuesday, the dogs kept on barking.  Both New York and Atlanta covered despite losing outright.

At press time the Trailblazers-Mavericks game was still in progress.
