Poker Pros ALS Ice Bucket Challenge - Hellmuth, Bilzerian: Pam Anderson Says ‘No

Some of the best known poker pros have begun to take part in the uber viral ALS Ice Bucket Challenge including the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Antonio Esfandiari, and poker playboy Dan Bilzerian, an Internet sensation himself.

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge involves dumping a bucket of ice water on one's head to promote awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

The challenge dares nominated participants to be filmed having a bucket of ice water poured on their heads and challenging others to do the same. A common stipulation is that nominated people have 24 hours to comply or forfeit by way of a charitable financial donation.  As of Wednesday, the ALS Association has raised more than $31.5 million since the #IceBucketChallenge went viral late last month.

Not all poker celebrities are up for the challenge and, in the case of “Baywatch” babe and the namesake of social poker site Pam’s Poker, Pamela Anderson, she accuses ALS researchers of animal cruelty.  Ms. Anderson is a staunch advocate of animal rights and a strong voice for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

"Sorry, I can't bring myself to do your Ice bucket challenge," the post began. "I enjoy a good dare, It's always good to bring awareness - in fun, creative ways, I don't want to take away from that. I thought instead, I'd challenge ALS to stop animal testing."

Watch who has taken part in the challenge below.
