Much has been made of this year's Poker Hall of Fame inductees this past summer but it now appears that only one person will be getting the nod.

Mike Sexton was named the sole inductee by Harrah's Thursday.

Sexton is an American professional poker player and commentator. As of 2009, Sexton has won several tournaments, including one World Series of Poker bracelet, and over $3,700,000 in total tournament winnings. However, Sexton is better known for his promotion of various poker events and services. He is the main host of the World Poker Tour and spokesman for PartyPoker.com, an online poker room.

"It's a nice honor," Sexton told PokerListings from London, just moments after he was notified about his induction.

"It really feels great. I'm truly flattered. Being inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame is about more than winning a tournament or having a good year. Essentially it is about having your career evaluated, being appreciated for what you've accomplished and what you've done for poker."

For the first time ever, voting was open to the public.  Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu were among the finalists.
