An Orlando resident received some much needed economic stimulus late Wednesday evening after cracking an $807,543 Bad Beat Jackpot at the online poker room Absolute Poker.

The online player, who goes by the handle EMILIE14 hit the monster jackpot and takes home $270,843.

The 28-year old online poker player EMILIE14 hits monster Bad Beat Jackpot of over $800,000 to take home $270,843.03 at Absolute Poker

EMILIE14 hit the jackpot Wednesday at 18:25 ET when he lost a hand of Texas Hold'em at Absolute Poker's  Bad Beat Jackpot tables. Losing with a Jack-high Straight Flush to PEACE2UALL's Royal Flush, EMILIE14 immediately set off Absolute Poker's Bad Beat Jackpot bells to the tune of $807,543.95.

For his loss at the table, EMILIE14 secured $270,843.03. The winner of the hand left the table $132,904.14 richer and two other players who were seated in the hand each took home $2,678.25 in cash. 57 other players each pocketed $1,678.25 for no other reason than they happened to be playing at Bad Beat Jackpot Tables with the same stakes.

Bad Beat Jackpot games are traditional Texas Hold'em poker with an added jackpot component. $0.50 is collected from qualifying poker hands and placed into a constantly growing pot until someone hits the jackpot.

When an online poker player loses a hand with four 8s or anything better, 65 percent of the jackpot is divided among Bad Beat Jackpot players with a large portion of the remaining pot held over for the next jackpot. All players seated at a Bad Beat Jackpot table featuring the same limit and game type as where the bad beat occurred also win a piece of the jackpot.

Sky-high Bad Beat Jackpots aren't uncommon at either of the CEREUS Poker Network's online poker sites--players at UltimateBet and Absolute Poker have both witnessed a number of monster jackpots near the million-dollar mark--but with CEREUS, Texas Hold'em players can keep on looking forward to much larger jackpots, more often.

"It truly is a great concept," said Payton O'Brien of Gambling911.com.  "These Absolute Poker Bad Beat Jackpots are especially popular among Gambling911.com readers.

Just the other day, Compatible Poker reported on how the Bad Beat Poker Jackpot was lost by a mere .25 cents.
