American Pharoah Updated Breeders Cup Odds With Beholder Out

Beholder was seen as the toughest competition to American Pharoah, whose odds have remained about the same even with Beholder scratched.  American Pharoah’s odds to win this year’s Breeders Cup Classic were now set at 6-5, slashed just a few cents.

Beholder had been listed at 3-1 odds so the thinking was that American Pharoah would trend closer to 1-2 odds. Beholder was scratched due to a lung ailment.

As for American Pharoah, this will be his final race.

“We see him every day, and we know he’ll be leaving,” trainer Bob Baffert. “It’s going to be tough. For me, him leaving, it’s going to be the toughest.”

Baffert says American Pharoah was "happy" and has been "working well” leading up to Saturday’s swan song.

Here are your latest Breeders Cup Classic odds.

American Pharoah 6-5

Tonalist 6-1

Honor Code 6-1

Keen Ice 12-1

Frosted 15-1

Smooth Roller 15-1

GlenEagles 20-1
