A 52-year-old former bookie charged with visiting a 13-year-old he groomed over the Internet for sex has had his sentence revoked. Watch video below

Martin Currier, of Wellington, was spared a jail term and instead sentenced to a three-year community order in March this year at Shrewsbury Crown Court.  That order was revoked over the weekend however, after Currier’s probation officer claimed he was “making excellent progress”. Currier told the Court he has since been “enlightened”.

He told a jury he believed “Jodie” to have been seeking his help and he had been trying to boost her confidence.  He claimed he had no intention of doing anything sexual

The bookmaker was caught by pedophile-vigilante Stinson Hunter on Video attempting to meet with the young girl.  Stinson’s program is similar to the once popular American “Dateline” show “To Catch A Predator”.

Currier had previously been charged with forgery while working as a solicitor.

You can watch the video of Currier being confronted by Stinson below.
