World Series of Poker Parties 2009

Oh how Jenny Woo and the gang are going to regret missing Doyle Brunson's big bash.  We were invited, but none of us are currently in Las Vegas as the 2009 World Series of Poker parties are about to get underway.  Gambling911.com looks forward to the photos from this event, which should be released shortly...once they all recover from their respective hangovers.

The closest we can get is via our beloved Rebecca Liggero of CasinoCity.com who is there along with the rest of the gang from that fine website.

So was poker pro Phil Hellmuth really drunk last night when he performed his trapeze stunt?

He continued his tradition of grand entrances by descending from the rafters at the Ultimate Bet party.

Doyle Brunson, however, one-upped Hellmuth.  He arrived to his party last night on a white elephant draped with 7 sultry beauties.   The elephant had an erection and so to did Doyle.

Vin Narayanan of CasinoCity.com described another of the parties, this one for PKR.com:

"On Wednesday night, I cabbed it to the Palms for the PKR.com party where, despite the heat, everyone was dressed up and lined up to party at the Hugh Hefner Suite.

"And after taking in the two parties, I can understand why. Nothing beats a party in Vegas.

"When fellow Casino City reporter Gary Trask and I arrived at the Palms around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night, the scene outside the Fantasy Tower, which houses the Hefner suite, was crazy.

"Apparently, the party was so full that only PKR.com players were being admitted, regardless of whether you were on the guest list or not (we were). That didn't stop the assembled masses from trying to talk their way into the party. But the attendant at the gate held firm. ‘Try back at 1 a.m.,' she suggested after Gary and I politely tried to gain entrance. ‘I'll try and let you in then'."

Perhaps one of the most important parties/charity events tied in with this year's World Series of Poker was the Annie Duke-hosted Ante Up for Africa celebrity filled extravaganza featuring none other than Matt Damon, Herschel Walker, Dean Cain, Nelly and Brad Garrett.
