England's odds to win the 2010 World Cup have gotten the longest they've been yet at Sportsbetting.com:  10/1 for a US$100 payout on every US$10 bet.

England must face Germany Sunday afternoon before they can advance and that will be no easy task.

Steven Gerrard has predicted that Wayne Rooney will finally score this Sunday and that England will ultimately overcome Germany.

"I have every confidence that he will play well tomorrow because he played well in the last game and he is looking really sharp in training," Gerrard told The Sun.

"The pressure is not just on Rooney but all the team - but top players put pressure on themselves.

"I am sure Wayne does so in his own spare time."

England manager Fabio Capello also insists that Rooney is ready to play.

Capello said: "I am happy with Rooney's performances. I have watched the games on DVD and be is playing well.' But, more significantly, he added: 'We have to understand that it's not easy to play in the World Cup. Rooney is always a really good player and very important for us. He hasn't scored here but his movement, his assists and everything he gives is important for us."

England had come into the tournament at around 5/1 odds of winning the 2010 World Cup outright.  A win against Germany Sunday will likely see their odds slashed once more.
