She's among the biggest fundraisers for charity in the world of poker (see Ante Up for Africa).  Donald Trump said "she seems like a nice woman".  But in the eyes of comedian Joan Rivers and her now castaway daughter, Melissa, poker pro Annie Duke is the devil.  Mother Rivers continually refers to her fellow Celebrity Apprentice rival as a "Nazi".  "My apologies to Hitler," Rivers said on her blog last week.

And while Melissa may have lost some of her stock with Celebrity Apprentice fans following this past Sunday's tantrum upon being fired, her mom is still getting plenty of support from fans, more so it appears than rival Duke.

From WickedChopsPoker.com:

"What's not funny though is how, even after last night, the majority of people still seem to side with Joan Rivers over Annie (Melissa's tantrum killed her popularity). Read these comments on the EW message board. It's about 90% pro-Joan. Again, Annie is overtly manipulative, but she's never taken a personal, below the belt shot at anyone on the show. Joan looks like the undead and goes out of her way to say the worst possible thing you can say to someone when she gets mad. So how are the viewers siding with Joan? Damn people suck so bad."

Rivers walked out behind her daughter, which left fans wondering if she would return next week.

Both Joan Rivers and Annie Duke were among the early favorites to win this season's Celebrity Apprentice.

"This is one of the best seasons of the show ever," said Gambling911.com's Payton O'Brien, referring to both the entire Apprentice Franchise.  This is the second season of the Celebrity Apprentice.  Other seasons have featured normal every day professionals vying for a job in Donald Trump's vast empire.

Duke is a spokesperson for the popular online poker room www.ultimatebet.com.

Joan is a tough lovable old gal...

I love Joan. I have new found respect for her. Joan and her daughter are up front, they tell it like it is, not Annie. That Annie chick makes my skin crawl, she is a two faced, manipulator, with a filty mouth, every other word has to be bleeped out by the censors everytime she speaks! If she speaks that way on camera, you know she obviously speaks that way in front of her children. What a loser. Money isn't everything. She is pathetic. I'm glad Joan came back, she's a tough old broad, they don't make em like that anymore!

LANI

I say SHAME ON DONALD TRUMP! that little trading notes with Cramer was like Jr High stuff!!! How pathedic. And as for Annie or what ever her name is. What a Decietful, arrogant piece of nothing. Then that Blond whats her name with her nose so far up Annie's you know what, better watch out! And I doubt anyone will feel sorry for her cause she will get what she deserves. Oh and Joan...................................I LOVE YOU!

Eyes Wide open

Joan Rivers is a washed out old creekbed, should be named Joan Creek, she's a horrible old worthless comic that should have retired and went to a senior center years ago! Annie Duke will shows her the way!

You're an idiot...or, as you would write, "your an idiot"

Dude, you're an idiot. Your SPELLING is what's "pathedic." Looks like Joan attracts a bunch of real winners. Annie Duke says it like it is. Joan's just a plastic, ugly old ball of menopausal psychosis...just like her whacked-out daughter

Public sides with Joan?

How?, Joan continually takes below the belt shots, attacks others character constantly, and generally acts psychotic (and she is truly guilty of the accusations she makes of others while they are not). Annie Duke is poised, smart, and tactful in her approaches with others. I don't see how the "public is siding" with Joan when she acts like an elitist (and so does her daughter). They just try to gang up on someone much smarter than either one of them, Annie Duke. I say Kudos to Annie and good luck to her, I honestly hope she or Jesse James wins the whole thing.

Annie vs. Joan

I think Annie was being sincere when she tried to compliment Joan on being a fighter. That she is. Make no mistake about it: Annie is going to be a dangerous opponent. She's played the game brilliantly. But Joan Rivers has faced plenty of adversity throughout her career - her husband's shocking suicide and the public rift between her and Johnny Carson. I can remember as a kid absolutely loving when Joan Rivers hosted the Tonight Show. She later was one of the original Fox television programs (her late night talk show). It eventually got cancelled. Above all, Rivers is an accomplished business woman. Can anyone honestly say this is NOT the final we were hoping for? I respect both women and can hardly wait to watch next weekend.

Annie is trying too hard, Joan is brilliant and funny!

Joan is flat out brilliant, could be loud and annoying but she speaks the truth. Annie is beyond arrogance and duplicitous, she is most likely the person to backstab you at work thinking she really is smarter and better than anyone - that is delusional. If you had no choice, who would you rather be stuck with? If you're thinking Annie, you are probably not a good judge of character and just stupid enough to be manipulated. This is the problem with corporate America, it's about looking good and poised while doing something evil and scheming in a very diplomatic manner. What have you learned from Lord of the Rings? Who would you rather lead and bestow power upon? While Joan Rivers' comment about poker player seemed like way out of line, she's a comedian for god's sake, aren't they all judgmental in a comical way? They do indulge in exaggeration to make a point. I play poker too but never offended, so chill. Not to take anything away from Annie, Joan is absolutely a better team player and someone I could mostly likely put up with at work because she does not take all the credit to herself, tackless yet honest and certainly more fun to be with.
