Fifty Shades of Grey Odds: Edinburgh Castle Favored to be First Locale for Publi

The folks at Irish-based bookmaker Paddy Power have tipped the Edinburgh Castle as the top spot where a couple is found to be engaging in public sexual activity following the release of the sexually charged thriller “Fifty Shades of Grey”.

The bookmaker believes that such depraved activity will be inspired by the controversial film.

Among the other favorites: The London eye (4/1), the London Underground (5/1), and Twickenham Stadium (8/1).

It gets even better, the bookie is also taking bets on whether the United Kingdom declares a shortage of morning after pills or condoms by Monday February 16 following the film’s premiere.

The movie, based on a popular book by the same name, has been widely panned by critics.  “Fifty Shades of Grey” follows the exploits of Anastasia Steele, a college graduate who begins a sadomasochistic relationship with a young business magnate Christian Grey, hence the title.

According to the film review aggregating website RottenTomatoes.com, only 30 percent of critics liked “Fifty Shades of Grey” while 56 percent of those common folk who paid to see it were impressed.

Greg Maki of the Star-Democrat writes:

To put it plainly, there's nothing redeeming here - not the acting, writing, directing or even the, um, "action" scenes, during which you just feel bad for the characters, actors and everyone on the set who had to be a part of them.

Courtney Shea of the Globe and Mail writes:

Nobody sweats or pants or experiences onscreen ecstasy, which is presumably how a movie about violent sex manages to avoid an NC-17 rating, but the result feels like 50 shades of beige.
