Disadvantages to Using the FanDuel Sports Betting App

The Fanduel sports betting app went live in New Jersey during the last days of August.  It is only available in this state currently. Folks who wish to open a betting account may do so from outside the state but will be unable to bet until they are within New Jersey's borders, this includes Newark International Airport.  Up until recently only internationally-licensed online sportsbook were accessible in the Garden State and still offer a tax incentive, anonymous alternative to the NJ-based wagering firmsThe tax imposed on those betting sports with Fanduel and other NJ-based firms is 13% (9.75% via sportsbook counters).

Another disadvantage is the limited device compatibility.  The Fanduel sports betting app is for Android and IOS.

While those 18 or older can play with offshore sportsbooks, FanDuel and its New Jersey-based counterparts require users to be at least 21 in order to place a bet.
