Despite the coronvirus pandemic gripping the state especially hard, Governor Jay Inslee signed off on legislation that would allow sports wagering in Washington's tribal casinos.  It will not permit in-state licensed sportsbooks to offer mobile wagering, thus providing a significant boost to companies licensed in other jurisdictions that welcome residents and visitors of Washington State like BetOnline.

The bill was passed despite objections that it grants a tax-free monopoly to the state's Indian tribes while hurting smaller commercial card-room casinos.

Those looking to place bets in-person will only be permitted to do so at the Washington tribal casinos.  Non-tribal card room establishments cannot operate sports books in the state.

Betting on state colleges will only be permitted on sites like BetOnline while prohibited at the tribal casinos.  Both the University of Washington Huskies and Washington State Cougars have excelled in College Football in recent years.  Gonzaga's Bulldogs team is among the most wagered on in College Basketball.
