Yesterday’s bookie beat down was more of a beat down of the gambler as Alabama came through with a decisive win over underdog LSU.  The Tigers had amassed around 75% to 80% of the public love coming into this game.

Today it’s the Packers, Patriots and Steelers that will have bookies sweating.

The Patriots aren’t just seeing heavy lopsided against on the spread (75% of the public backing them), at some books New England’s -1400 money line is among the top five wagers this Sunday.  This means you would have to bet $1400 to win $100 or $14 to win $1 if New England wins outright.  Then again, its almost unfathomable to believe the Patriots won’t win this game.

The Packers were getting nearly as much action on the spread (75%) as New England.  They are a -2.5 favorite coming into Carolina.

Pittsburgh was seeing solid action at 65% versus Oakland.  The Steelers are a -5 home favorite in this one.
