Miss USA 2009 Miss Universe

The Miss Universe pageant, one of the most bet on television events, airs this weekend and one of the perennial favorites, Miss USA, has once again come in with short odds of 10/1 or +1000 at Sportsbook.com.  She's not the favorite to win however as Miss Australia, Miss Ireland and Miss Czech Republic all have shorter odds of winning.

The last two Miss USA contestants have tripped while walking on stage and we're confident a few online bookmakers will be offering odds of that happening this weekend.

Miss USA is none other than Kristen Dalton.

"She'll be getting plenty of action since so much of the betting will originate in the US," claims Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of Gambling911.com.  "The bookmakers will not be rooting for Miss USA 2009 to win."

"Hopefully this years representative knows how to walk properly," joked Dave Stanley of Sportsbook.com.

Kristen Dalton was crowned Miss USA 2009 in Las Vegas on April 19.

Dalton's lineage reminds us of Kentucky Derby thoroughbred breeding. Dalton is the daughter of Jeannie Boger who was Miss North Carolina USA 1982.  Her younger sister Julia Dalton was Miss North Carolina Teen USA 2008 and placed 2nd runner-up at Miss Teen USA 2008; the third Dalton sister Kenzie Dalton is engaged to Chad Michael Murray and also competed in the Miss North Carolina Teen USA pageant and placed 1st runner-up. Dalton is of English and German ancestry.
