The Paradise Walker-Hill Casino in Seoul, South Korea, has announced that it has hired actor Robert De Niro to serve as a paid celebrity spokesman for the casino.

The casino, which is South Korea's oldest and is open to foreigners only--meaning no South Koreans are allowed in--is located in the Sheraton Walker-Hill Hotel, a luxury hotel in Seoul that is popular with tourists and foreign business people.

Horse Racing Drama 'Luck' Proved Too Real for HBO

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Horse racing has long withstood the deaths of its skittish, injury-prone thoroughbreds. Hollywood proved it lacks the stomach for it.

HBO abruptly cancelled its racetrack drama series "Luck" this past week after three horses used in the production were injured and euthanized during 10 months of filming in the last two years.

The abrupt fall of "Luck," which will end its single-season run on March 25, reveals the chasm between the racing and entertainment industries.

Jennifer Tilly to Appear on “The Simpsons” in Episode About Online Poker

Jennifer Tilly, star of the enormously successful slasher film “Bride of Chucky” and an avid poker player, will be appearing in an episode of “The Simpsons” next season.  That episode will involve Lisa discovering that her dad, Homer Simpson, has stashed her college money away in an online poker site (hopefully it wasn’t Full Tilt Poker).  Lisa must then learn how to play the game.

Tilly, who currently provides the voice for Bonnie Swanson on the animated series “The Family Guy”, will play herself.

Third Horse Death Results in Suspension of HBO Series ‘Luck’

All future production of “Luck” has been suspended, according to HBO.  This news comes following the death of a third horse in connection with filming the racetrack drama. 

The most recent incident involved a horse that had to be euthanized after sustaining an injury.

Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdinck Millions Went to Pay Off Mob Bosses

Legendary performers Tom Jones and Englebert Humperdinck lost millions as a result of their manager, music mogul Gordon Mills, siphoning off the cash to pay gambling debts to the Mob, according to reports that surfaced this week. 

Mills, who passed away from cancer in 1986, is reported to have owed $320 million in gambling debts.

The monies disappeared from Las Vegas shows that were on a retainer of $8,000 (£5,000) per week.

Documentary Chronicles Rise of Poker

A documentary about poker that was made three years ago will finally see the theatrical light of day later this month.

The film, titled "All In: The Poker Movie," chronicles the rise of poker's popularity and includes interviews not only with professional poker players but also with political and social commentators who weigh in on the larger meaning of poker.

The movie, produced and directed by documentary film maker Douglas Tirola of 4th Row Films, was shown once at a film festival in Las Vegas in 2009, but that was the extent of its public screenings.

Poker After Dark Returning March 5

“Poker After Dark” is set to return March 5 with 24 previously unaired episodes.   

Four weeks of episodes that were taped primarily in December 2010 will be shown on the new NBC Sports Network (currently Versus). 

“Poker After Dark” was previously sponsored by the now defunct Full Tilt Poker.
