New Orleans Saints vs New England Odds

The NFL has some good games this week, but none of them may be getting the attention that this game will receive. The New Orleans Saints have been unstoppable, and the Patriots were undefeated until they seemed to forget how to play last week. This game should be interesting, and will showcase talent on either side of the football, with no clear advantage on paper.

Current line: New Orleans Saints +2 / Over & Under at 50

Time:  Sunday, October 13, 4:25 pm (EST) FOX, NFL Red Zone

Let’s first address the big news, Rob Gronkowski is scheduled to play this week. That’s what all the major news outlets are saying, and that is a big gain for the New England Patriots. Will that prove effective against the Saints? It very well could be, as the Saints have a tendency to allow some short yardage gains. Pack on a lot of short gains and the team could end up falling behind to a Patriots offense that is quite good on the ball, when they aren’t injured.

This past week was ugly for the Patriots, as they were ousted by the Cincinnati Bengals. That’s right, the Bengals toppled this team and it wasn’t pretty as Tom Brady couldn’t get a touchdown pass and they were routed in the end. The Patriots have a lot of talent, but they seem to be missing something on offense, which is why this game could easily go to the Saints. The Saints have been playing very well, and Drew Brees is putting on a show as much as Peyton Manning is doing the same in Denver.

The Match Up:

The Saints were able to pound the Chicago Bears this past week and they were just solid on the ball. They have been doing grand things ever since they got their coach back from suspension. The Saints are amazing in the air, with Brees being able to land some amazing passes, but it wasn’t the passing game that made their win over Chicago so stellar, it’s was the run. Their running game is going to be hard to stop, and the Patriots are going to have to close that up fast or else it’s going to be a blow out. Overall, the game looks to be one that will definitely go to the one that can outlast on defense. After seeing the struggles of last week’s Patriots, we’re going to have to go with the Saints. They will remain undefeated, although this game could get nasty towards the end, if it turns out to be a defensive battle. New Orleans has it though, but it definitely will not be a blow out.

New Orleans Saints +2
