Three-Man Race in Iowa Caucus Overnight

It was Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul winning in the Iowa caucus overnight.  All three were essentially favorites to win coming into Tuesday.

As of 10:30 pm EST, Santorum was winning by a very slight margin.  Mitt Romney came in second.  Ron Paul came in two percentage points behind but was still very much in the race.  By 11 pm EST, Paul was determined to have finished in third place.

On Tuesday, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum were engaging in a nasty little tift.

Paul has been claiming Santorum is a closet liberal, while Santorum and others say Paul is dangerous on foreign policy.

On Tuesday, Santorum called Paul "disgusting" after blaming his campaign for robo-calls that describe Santorum as too liberal on gun rights and abortion.

Paul, on Fox News, accused Santorum of trying to "deflect away" from the scrutiny his record is receiving. Paul claims Santorum's support for foreign aid is outside the conservative mainstream.

Many believed that Michele Bachmann would be dropping out of the race after Iowa and finishing second last ahead of Jon Huntsman.

No doubt, Romney, Santorum and Paul move on to New Hampshire.
