Shoe Me The Money: Poker Pro Beth Shak Sued by Ex Over Massive Shoe Collection

Professional poker player Beth Shak is known around town affectionately as “the lady with a thousand shoes”.  Now she risks losing a portion of her footwear collection after ex-hubby Daniel Shak filed a lawsuit asking the court for 35 percent of Beth’s 1200 pairs of shoes.

Daniel, a 52-year-old wealthy hedge fund manager, claims Beth kept her shoe collection hidden from him during their divorce settlement three years ago.

“He is saying he didn’t know the closet in our master bedroom existed,” Beth said.  “How could I possibly hide these things?  It would be ludicrous.  It would be insane.

“I’m shaking my head over this whole thing,” she told the New York Post. “He is saying he didn’t know the closet in our master bedroom existed.”

Daniel’s suit suggests that Beth’s shoe collection was kept within a “secret room” of the couple’s $7.5 million Fifth Avenue Manhattancondo.

“In the summer of 2011, Daniel became aware that Beth owned and failed to disclose an extensive . . . collection of Christian Louboutin shoes . . . and other high-end designer shoes and bags,” his suit says.

“Dan trusted his wife and was not inspecting his home to try to find inventory or ‘secret rooms.’ ”

Beth Shak’s shoe collection has been featured in media outlets from The Post to MTV’s Cribs.

Shak’s total winnings on the live poker circuit amount to $478,412.   She has 12 cashes, the biggest of which was a 2nd place finish at the 38th Annual World Series of Poker

Event #28 - WSOP No Limit Hold'em, which netted $328,683.
