"It's literally just hours old, but The Beast is proving to be incredibly popular for poker animals," stated Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. "Serious grinders are hitting the jackpot tables in record numbers, and we're seeing new, casual online poker players sign up, too. The shared jackpot contribution model is really what's getting players excited, not to mention the fact that way more players now have a chance to share in the jackpot every single month. To celebrate the launch of The Beast we are seeding the Progressive Jackpot with an extra $60,000."

The Beast, a monthly progressive points race that's funded through online poker jackpot tables, is on track to become the richest points race in online poker history. The prize pool, estimated to grow to hundreds of thousands every month, is funded using players' shared jackpot contribution money.

Anyone who sits down at a cash table marked Jackpot automatically becomes part of The Beast competition by earning points through participation in a raked hand. While more points are earned at higher stake levels, everyone participating in the same raked hand earns the same number of points—regardless of how much rake they contributed to the pot.

The Beast leaderboard features two prizes—a cash prize pool (estimated to fall in 6-figure territory every month) and a tournament entry prize pool. For the launch of The Beast, online poker players will be able to win free $109 entries to a Punta Cana Poker Classic Super Satellite, where prize packages worth $5,000 apiece are on the line. Players automatically compete for both prizes by ranking on the leaderboard.

Because The Beast grows using money generated at Jackpot tables, the more people who play at the jackpot tables, the greater the prize pool, and, in turn, the more people who'll reap the rewards.
