PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Begins

For most of the world, the winter months are characterized by extreme cold, snow and overall, harsh weather conditions. For the poker community, the winter also means new beginnings and a trip to the tropical paradise of the Bahamas. This is because since 2004, PokerStars has rung in the new year by hosting the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure at the lush Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. In addition to enjoying the favorable weather, the world's top players will be vying for the first major poker title of the year, the $10,000 PCA no limit hold' em main event.

In 2009, Poorya Nazari defeated 1,346 players to start off his new year right with $3 million to his bank account. In total, players will have the chance to compete in a whopping 34 events in total. In addition to the main event, this year's series will also boast $25,000 eight-handed no-limit hold'em high-rollers event, a $5,000 eight-game mixed championship, a $5,000 pot-limit Omaha championship, a $5,000 PokerStars heads-up no-limit hold'em challenge, and a $5,000 six-handed no-limit hold'em event.

The tournament is expected to attract a plethora of PokerStars players as this is one of the world's largest online poker site's biggest annual live events. The Main Event will feature $30,000 starting stacks which should allow for more game play
