Poker Maximus II – Day 8 Recap

Thursday’s events in the Poker Maximus II series brought plenty of variety to players as there was another HORSE event as well as a PL Omaha tournament. In the end, three more winners were determined as the Poker Maximus II series gears up for its final weekend.  Learn More About Poker Maximus Here

Event #23: $20,000 Guaranteed NLH freezeout – ($30+3 buy-in)

The guaranteed pot in this tournament was boosted up to $28,650 after 955 entrants decided to take a shot at this event. Like many of the other events before it, this was a gruelling 8-plus hour grind that ended up paying the top 90 finishers. It was FlowCannon who outlasted all the rest and took home the $5443.51 1st place prize money.

FlowCannon was not only lucky enough to win this event but he did it with a final hand of 7-2 suited. A flop of 7h,2s,Ad was his great start and he came out and bet it against Herojuana25. The turn was a Kh giving Herojuana25 a pair of Kings with his Kc,9c, and he called another bet from FlowCannon. The river card was a 3d which was no help, and FlowCannon continued his betting ways by shoving all-in. Herojuana25 called and was shown the bad news as he finished in second.

Final Table Payouts and Prize Winners:

1 FlowCannon $5443.51; 2 Herojuana25 $3452.33; 3 bmixfsu $2535.53; 4 TwoWatch69 $1862.26; 5 VegasGrinder2003 $1475.48; 6 ChicagoKid33 $1146.01; 7 HmmmSeriously $888.16; 8 Kosamm $687.61; 9 TiltedGenius $544.36

Event #24: $20,000 Guaranteed HORSE– ($200+15 buy-in)

This was the second straight HORSE event but this one was a lot steeper in price with the $200 buy-in. With HORSE being a game with a selected audience and the big buy-in, Event #24 only saw 110 entrants but that was still enough to boost the guaranteed pot another $2000. With such a small field only the top 18 players were paid and it was AnyaKS who was the best of them all and won the event.

As the final hand was played out, AnyaKS had a huge chip lead over Lambo21 and after AnyaKS completed to $13,500, Lambo21 wasn’t left with too many options. The decision to go all-in for 10,656 more chips was an easy one to make, despite not having too many prospects with a 6c,2h,4s, showing in the stud hand. He did end up pairing up his 4’s by the end but they were no match for AnyaKS’s pair of Kings in the hole.  Learn More About Poker Maximus Here

Final table results:

1 AnyaKS $6094.00; 2 Lambo21 $3960.00; 3 ichasedraws $2640.00; 4 jdavid118 $1760.00; 5 PokerPsix $1408.00; 6 israelhere2stay $1100.00; 7 ScottFischman88 $880.00; 8 UnprotectedSex $704.00; 9 Rebeca90 $550.00

Event #25: $15,000 Guaranteed Pot Limit Omaha – ($55+5 buy-in)

Event #25 was the first Omaha tournament of Poker Maximus II and like HORSE events, Omaha is a game only for those who truly love it. There were 272 players that decided that this tournament was for them and after 7.5 hours we had a winner. Congrats to Rebeca90 on winning Event #25 and taking home the $3660 first place prize money.

All the action came pre-flop on the final hand of this event as breakingAAbad was the initial raiser with his 9c,5d,Qc,Tc. That raise was quickly met with a re-raise from Rebeca90 with her pair of Aces (Ts,As,7h,Ad) that basically put breakingAAbad all in. He decided to go all in with the call plus a little over 6,000 more and was shown the bad news. The flop all but sealed the deal as it came Ah,9h,6h giving Rebeca90 trips. Another 9 on the turn filled up Rebeca90’s full boat as she was the winner.

Final table results:

1 Rebeca90 $3660.00; 2 breakingAAbad $2430.00; 3 BigHeffer21 $1500.00; 4 jrice12 $1125.00; 5 ComfortableLiar $930.00; 6 EatMyRiverNutz $750.00; 7 TheBeesKnees13 $600.00; 8 BigR1615 $480.00; 9 GLightfoot74 $375.00
