Event #7: $10,000 Guaranteed NLH Freezeout – ($10+1 buy-in)

This was the first tournament of the Poker Maximus II event that saw more than 1000 entrants in 1406, boosting the payouts by a little over $4000. It was also the quickest tournament so far this year as it was finished in 3 hours and 15 minutes. Carbon player blntznbrndy420 was the lucky one to be the final man standing and he took home the 1st place prize money of $2,109.01.

Blntznbrndy420 wasn’t ready to play around once it got to heads up and after seeing his big blind get min-raised, he decided that shoving all-in with his Kh,Qc was the best course of action as the big stack. Little did he know that BrkoChuck was sitting there with pocket Aces and could flip the scene in the coming hands. However, a very favorable flop landed for blntznbrndy420 as it came Qh,4s,Qd putting him in the lead right away. A turn card of the Ks gave him a full house and the river card did not bring one of the two remaining aces for BrkoChuck.

Final Table Payouts and Prize Winners:

1 blntznbrndy420 $2109.01; 2 BrkoChuck $1632.37; 3 ega4pats $1152.93; 4 KeystoneKannon $885.79; 5 JigzFlipping $688.95; 6 No1Needs2Know $562.41; 7 kungpownow $449.93; 8 lolyoushove $309.33; 9 224flat $196.85

Event #8: $20,000 Guaranteed with Unlimited rebuys and 1 add-on – ($30+1 buy-in)

363 entrants to Event#8 boosted the total prize pool by over $10,000 to a final total of $31,620 that was up for grabs. Seven and a half hours later, T4XX3D came away with the victory after outlasting gRrRr333 in a very entertaining heads up battle. The final hand played out like this:

Once the antes and blinds were posted in the final hand, these two players did not want to waste any time. T4XX3D immediately shoved all-in with his 9d,6c and was instantly called by gRrRr33 with his Ac,Js. With a flop of 10d,5d,2c there was little help to T4XX3D’s hand but thanks to a runner-runner of 8s and 7c, his hand hit his straight and the 1st place prize was his.

1 T4XX3D $6640.20; 2 gRrRr333 $4268.70; 3 milesreturns2012 $3162.00; 4 flashjr808 $2529.60; 5 No1Needs2Know $1739.10; 6 1Uwant2bdaddy1 $1359.66; 7 kyrredyr $1075.08; 8 SweeeeetPickle $790.50; 9 SGMSKI999 $664.02

Event #9: $50,000 Guranateed NLH Freezeout – ($200+15 buy-in)

Saturday’s final event was another high-stakes tourney for players with deep bankrolls and the willingness to play in the $200+15 buy-in event. In the end 296 players sat down to take their chances at the $59,200 prize pool, hoping to finish in the top 27 places in order to cash. It was poonaniboy who ended up taking the cake and collected $14,444.80 for his efforts. Here is poonaniboy’s clinching hand:

This was the only final hand of the day’s three events that saw some post-flop betting as poonaniboy shoved overtop of flushmstr’s 3x raise post flop. The board was showing 2h,Ad,Qh, and both players thought they had the best hand. Flushmstr’s Ac,4h was no match for poonaniboy’s A,Q suited and the tournament was sealed then. A 7d and 8c on the turn and river was nothing more than academic as poonaniboy took down the huge 1st place prize.

Final table results:

1 poonaniboy $14444.80; 2 flushmstr289 $9590.40; 3 toomuchedge2 $5920.00; 4 m9chatz $4440.00; 5 CalvinCandie $3670.40; 6 11Edgar $2960.00; 7 TennisGolfandPoker $2368.00; 8 ILoveMyShoes $1894.40; 9 CZECHCHUCKY $1480.00
