Mohegan Sun Poker to Use Ongame Software Platform

Connecticut tribal casino operator, Mohegan Sun, has entered into an agreement with Ongame to provide a free play poker site with the intent to offer real money gambling once legislation is passed at either the federal or state level.

Mohegan Sun Poker is the name of the newly formed venture.  The East Coast casino is the first to announce a play money online poker site.

“It is exciting to be part of the move online for one of the most dynamic and expansive casino operators in the United States,” said Peter Bertillson, Ongame’s Managing Director. “Mohegan Sun is the second largest casino site in the United States and it will be very exciting to be a partner in their online gaming operations as this becomes an important part of their future business strategy.”

Mohegan Sun previously entered into a deal with Bally Technologies to provide its interactive platform.  Ongame’s software is expected to be integrated.

Amaya Gaming purchased Ongame this fall, shutting its once popular Internet poker network down in Europe.

Connecticut is one of a handful of states that have expressed interest in passing legislation that would allow for real money poker at the state level.
