Martin Finger Wins EPT Barcelona €25K High Roller 2015, Banks €865,900

A three-handed battle in the €25k High Roller had to be deferred on Wednesday when it reached 5am. At the time, Martin Finger had the chip lead ahead of Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree and Mark Teltscher. Martin Finger won't care much about the unforeseen delay however as hegot the job done this afternoon for a first prize of €865,000.

A lot has been written about Martin Finger over the five years since he first appeared on the EPT circuit back in Season 7. Just one season later, he became an EPT champion after winning in Prague for €720,000. He brought another trophy home from EPT10 London where he took down the the German-dominated Super High Roller event for £821,000. Just three months after his third place finish in the EPT Grand Final €50k Super High Roller for €437,000, he arrived in Barcelona to bank the ninth six-figure payday of his career. The WSOP bracelet holder is renowned as a high stakes heads-up player online on PokerStars and also has a ton of great online tournament results under his belt including a SCOOP title last year.

Runner-up Mark Teltscher was sitting on that €50k SHR final table in Monaco along with Finger, and earned €159,600 for a seventh place back then. The EPT2 London champion won €586,500 tonight for his runner-up finish to bring his lifetime tournament winnings to over $4 million. Teltscher also moves up the England all-time money list from #8 to #4, just ahead of Stephen Chidwick.

Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree had already locked up the second biggest cash of her career before coming back today. She was guaranteed €391,000 and, after falling in third place, that's exactly what she got. Boeree's best result remains her victory at EPT6 Sanremo, where she beat a 1,240-strong field to seize €1,250,000 along with the title.

There were a record-breaking 99 entries in the €50k Super High Roller (85 unique players + 14 re-entries). 24 players shared pieces of the €3,724,000 prize pool (Ivan Luca and Juha Helppi were the bubble boys and split the min-cash). Team PokerStars SportStar Neymar Jr and his fellow FC Barcelona team-mate Gerard Pique were among those who entered.
