Man Arrested for Using Fake Poker Chips at Bellagio Made $1 Mil From Pirated DVD

A North Carolina man charged with using fake poker chips during this past month’s Borgata Winter Open has now been charged with copyright infringement.

Customs agents found more than 37,500 pirated DVDs and equipment used for pirating DVDs after they raided Christian Lusardi's home in Fayetteville, N.C., according to a report on wral.com.

Investigators were able to determine that Lusardi made at least $1 million through the online selling of the pirated DVDs.

A clogged pipe at another Atlantic City, N.J., casino led to the discovery of $2.7 million in counterfeit poker chips that had been flushed down a toilet.

New Jersey state police say the investigation began when workers at Harrah's Resort went to unclog a sewer pipe in Lusardi's hotel room.

One of the Borgata events had to be cancelled following the discovery that some counterfeit chips had been used during the tournament.

Court documents show that Lusardi received a shipment from China marked “plastic chips,” the report said.
